Requirements:

Experience:
• 5 years of RTW experience in a multiple unit managerial role
• Demonstrated success in assessing, selecting and developing store management teams
• Understanding of and experience overseeing the consistent execution of visual, merchandising, marketing and customer service strategies
• Experience developing, implementing and monitoring programs/processes that drive business improvements
• Knowledge of lawful employment practices
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills with all levels
• Ability to develop and maintain excellent fashion merchandise presentation standards
• Proven leadership skills in training, coaching, developing, motivating, and selling
• Ability to manage corporate directives and maintain excellent records
• Capable of maximizing business to achieve sales goals and reduce shortage and expenses

Other Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong human relation skills and ability to work and support a team environment
• Ability to set, meet and assist others in achieving goals

Education:
• College background or equivalent retail fashion management

 

Job Description:

The DM is responsible for business results, brand operational standards and talent for an assigned district of stores and for improving district results. Direct reports to the DM are the Store Managers within the assigned district.  DM will also manage their Home store.

LEADERSHIP & EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:
• Creates and takes accountability for a positive work environment that increases productivity, decreases turnover and enhances the customer experience
• Develops, implements and monitors programs that sustain a productive, efficient store environment and facilitates a positive associate experience and attitude toward the Company
• Empowers the Store Managers to act as gatekeeper, facilitator and decision maker to drive results
• Communicates performance goals and standards so associates understand expectations and their role in the organization’s mission

Human Resources:
• Recruits, interviews and selects the best candidates for job openings
• Coaches and develops managers and associates for current and future responsibilities
• Creates a learning environment in district, ensuring the store management teams are committed to the GREAT program and other Company programs


CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service:
• Ensures district Brand Reps are friendly, knowledgeable about our merchandise
• Improves customer experience in district through recognizing customer service successes, coaching to improve performance and empowering staff to appropriately use their best judgment in all customer service matters
• Is personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions and concerns

Product Knowledge:
• Provides customer and merchandise feedback as needed or as requested
• Provides input and influence to convey product ideas from customer to Merchant Team



FINANCIAL AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial:
• Efficiently plans tasks and manages execution to achieve financial goals/results within budget and on time
• Develops plans for accomplishing objectives and monitors progress
• Demonstrates initiative; sets challenging goals for self and district and puts a top priority on getting results, even in the face of obstacles
• Gathers and applies relevant knowledge/information to make effective decisions
• Allocates district staffing and oversees all payroll/non-payroll expense control
• Is proactive; willing to take calculated risks and take on challenges in achieving organizational objectives

Loss Prevention:
• Ensures that the district protects company assets through promoting awareness of LP best practices
• Ensures that the district maintains acceptable inventory shortage, not exceeding established goals
• Ensures that the district maintains LP best practices including inventory control,  alarms and cash handling procedures
• Ensures that store management follows all policies specific to inventory control, including managing physical inventories, paperwork flow, over/short logs, markdowns, timeliness of reporting, receipt of goods, merchandise transfers and all other related inventory matters

Operations:
• Ensures proper execution of visual presentation standards and promotional event set ups
• Ensures stores in district are clean, organized and operational
• Adheres to and ensures all employees are working safety and following established safety best practices
