As we move through September, it’s only natural to look to the latest trends when shopping for your homecoming dress. And while fall has quite a few (Glitter! Leopard print!) today’s focus is primarily on satin. Especially popular in the ever-extra 80’s, satin has stuck around since last season, and is more popular than ever, if we do say so ourselves. What is satin?
Satin is a weave fabric with a shiny finish. Due to its thickness and rich texture, satin is best worn in cooler temperatures, making it the perfect look to sport at homecoming or a fall wedding!
Why is it so popular?
It’s no secret that 80’s fashion was over-the-top. So it makes sense that satin was one of the many trends that dominated the era. And since everything old is new again, 80’s style has come full circle, along with puff sleeves and pops of neon. How to style it?
